Simple Things

Since the day I told him to get his things and leave. Since the day the complicated came crashing down. Since the realization of what I had done. I started to see simple things.

Simple things made sense. Simple things didn't hurt my head or my heart. In fact, they tended to bring me joy.

Every year for the month of November I post a "thankful" each day. The simple seem silly...but they are real and they make sense. When my Peanut was little she once prayed thanking God for toothpaste.  While this tickled me to no end...we can all agree to say Amen, lol.

I have a convertible and driving down the freeway with the top down is a simple thing. Climbing into clean sheets after a fabulous shower is a simple thing. Getting the perfect ratio of creamer to coffee for that first cup is a simple thing.

Simple things took my mind off the shattered complicated and put it on gratitude and my King. "For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer". (1 Tim 4:4-5)
