What Becomes of the Brokenhearted?

What Becomes of the Brokenhearted?

When a heart encounters damage or disease, there is no repair. It does not regenerate like other tissues. It scars and functions at less than optimal.

When a heart gets broken, over and over, it does not repair. It scars and functions at less than optimal.

We can make the choice to remain functioning at less than optimal and could indeed survive.

We can make the choice to do whatever it takes to reach for optimal and thrive.

Our best option is choosing to listen to the Creator of our heart and have some discernment before we hand it over to just anyone. Understanding what the true intentions of the one asking for it are and whether we can afford to offer our trust.

We have our hearts broken either by our own misguided expectations or just the evil choices of others. Either way, broken it is.

We can listen to the One who loves us with all His heart and can teach us to love as He does, so we can show grace, mercy, and discernment to choose wisely where our hearts take us.

What becomes of the Brokenhearted? The lover of our soul uses our scars to grow us in the wisdom of His character and to develop sound judgement.

“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34
